Whoa! Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time Has Sold More Than 5 Million Copies 1

It seems Toys for Bob’s warmly received Crash Bandicoot sequel has been a huge success. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, the first numbered sequel in the series since 1998’s Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, has sold over five million copies, according to the studio’s design director, Toby Schadt.

It’s About Time is a return to the franchise’s roots, focusing on challenging platforming, diverse level design, and a colourful cast of characters. Following the successful revival of the brand with Vicarious Visions’ N. Sane Trilogy, this is a fresh, modern spin on a beloved formula. Schadt recently changed the sales number on his LinkedIn page, suggesting the five million milestone was crossed not too long ago.

The multiplayer spin-off Crash Team Rumble doesn’t seem to have moved the needle nearly as much, as its sales are not disclosed on the same page. That’ll be Toys for Bob’s last mark on the franchise in any case, as the team recently split from Activision to become an independent studio. It’s reportedly working with Microsoft on its next project.
